Cover: University of Minnesota researchers evaluated timing and method of managing a rye cover crop following corn in a 2-yr rotation with soybean. Substantial rye regrowth occurs if rye is mowed in the vegetative stage. Properly timed management of the rye can reduce soybean yield loss and improve the economic return of this production system.
