Synopsis: Volunteer plants constituted a significant portion of the population of red clover seed fields in the second and third years. There was no significant difference in the proportion of volunteer plants in cultivated row-plantings and broadcast stands. Establishment and survival of volunteer plants may cause changes in varietal purity.
