Synopsis: Highly significant r values of –0.846 in 1962 and –0.825 in 1963 were obtained between bushels per acre and stem solidness in a Thatcher6 x Rescue cross. Lignin content of selections in 1962 was not associated with stem solidness, percent sawfly tunneling, or percent sawfly cutting.
