Use of Plastic Soil in Sweet Corn Production1

Synopsis: Early emergence and development of sweet corn was encouraged by covering the seed row with clear plastic strips. Plants growing through clear, perforated strips developed more rapidly and were ready to harvest one week earlier than those on bare soil.
