Effect of Nitrogen and Magnesium Nutrition on Pod and Seed Development in Canning Peas1

G. R. Klacan and K. C. Berger2

Synopsis: Numbers of pods and seeds were influenced by levels of nitrogen and magnesium. Low nitrogen early and high nitrogen late were detrimental to number of pods, seeds, and seed size. Deficient magnesium levels reduced both numbers of seeds and pods, while a slight deficiency only reduced numbers of pods.
