Synopsis: Leaf-burn of tobacco was significantly related to the leaf constituents in the following order of importance: K(+) > Cl(–) > SO4–S(–) > Mg(–) > NO3–N(–) > total N(–). Magnesium was the only constituent that was significantly related (inversely) to quality.
