Root Production and Accumulation of Root Material on Fertilized Annual Range1

Synopsis: Root samples were obtained from 7 depth increments of O to 24 inches on variously fertilized annual range plots. Production of root material was greatest on N-fertilized plots. There was no significant accumulation of roots at any particular depth in response to fertilizer.
