Mowing of Turfgrass. III. The Effect of Rest on Seaside Bentgrass Turf Mowed Daily1

John H. Madison2

Synopsis: On a Seaside bentgrass turf mowed daily, 1 to 5 days a week rest from mowing were used. All rest periods resulted in increased yield. Two or 3 consecutive days of rest were more effective than the same time spread through the week. Grain as indicated by population density was not increased by 1 or 2 days a week rest.
