Grain Sorghum Caryopsis Development: II. Changes in Chemical Composition1

Synopsis: Changes in amounts of nitrogen, total sugars, starch, and acid hydrolyzable carbohydrates followed closely changes in dry weight of Combine Kafir-60 sorghum caryopses harvested at 3-day intervals after pollination. Diastatic activity was closely associated with percentage germination.
