Soybean Ecology. II. Development-Temperature-Moisture Relationships from Field Studies1

D. M. Brown and L. J. Chapman2

Synopsis: Average rate of development per degree F. in the preflowering period was nearly the same as the rate on the previously derived development curve at the mean of the average temperatures encountered in the field. Lower rates than those on the development curve occurred in the postflowering period. Available moisture, as well as temperature, was correlated with development rate in the flowering period.
