The Influence of Several Managerial Treatments Upon the Gross Morphology of Timothy1

E. J. Peters2

Synopsis: Fertilizing with nitrogen in addition to potassium and phosphorus generally increased the number of secondary corms and tertiary shoots of timothy plants, while the average weight of corms decreased. The number of secondary corms increased as the number of cuttings increased. Dead corms were numerous on plants that were cut frequently and also on plants cut to 1 inch or fertilized with high amounts of nitrogen.
