Association Between Nitrogen Percentage and Certain Morphological Characteristics in Barley1

A. D. Day and A. D. Dickson2

Sypnosis: A study was conducted to determine if linkage associations exist in barley between nitrogen percentage and certain visible morphological characteristics of known inheritance. It was found that nitrogen percentage was associated with the 2-row vs. Grow character. No associations were found between nitrogen percentage and the black vs. white glume character. the covered vs. naked kernel character, the blue vs. white aleurone character, or the rough vs. smooth awn character.
