Synopsis: Cotton plants growing in solution culture containing a copper concentration of 0.8 ppm. or higher developed toxicity symptoms consisting of a darkened root system and loss of turgidity in the aerial parts. A copper concentration of 0.4 ppm. produced no toxic effects.
Copper accumulated in high amounts in the tip and mid portions of the roots; whereas, only small amounts were translocated to the leaves.
