Synopsis: Reciprocal translocations were utilized to identify the chromosome arms associated with resistance to the leaf blight caused by Helminthosporium turcicum. Tests involving resistant Mo21A indicated 8 arms of this inbred line were associated with resistance and 2 associated with susceptibility. The short arm of chromosome 1 was associated with resistance in some tests and susceptibility in others. Resistance was associated with 6 chromosome arms in tests with the resistant line NC34.
