Synopsis: Ratings of leaf feeding of the European corn borer on plants in F2 and backcross progenies from two susceptible x resistant corn crosses indicated that resistance differences were conditioned by segregation of genes at a single locus. The resistance gene was linked with the gl7 and V17 genes of the resistant parent with cross-over frequencies estimated at from 31% to 37%.
