A Statistical Study of Several Methods Used in Determining the Botanical Composition of a Sward: II. A Study of Several Forage Mixtures1

R. W. VanKeuren and H. L. Ahlgren2

Synopsis: Correction factors developed for use with the inclined point quadrat method were tested. The correction factor based on yield per hit gave more satisfactory results than did the factor based on the regression coefficients. The use of the regression equations to provide estimates of yield of forage by the inclined point quadrat method did not give satisfactory results for all species.
