Breeding Sugar Beets for Resistance to Nematodes¹

Synopsis: With sugar yield as a measure of resistance, preliminary data indicate that a moderate level of resistance to nematode exists in currently grown varieties of Beta Vulgaries. Selection for resistance to nematode did not decrease root yields.
