The Effect of Time and Height of Cutting on the Yield, Crude Protein Content and Vegetative Composition of a Native Flood Meadow in Eastern Oregon1

Synopsis: Four years of differential cutting treatments had no effect upon fifth year yield. Yield declines were associated with loss in soil fertility. No significant changes in vegetative composition. Crude protein content decreased with maturity and increased with cutting height.
