Inheritance of Three Genes for Bacterial Blight Resistance in Upland Cotton1

John M. Green and L. A. Brinkerhoff2

Synopsis: Data indicate that the resistance of Stoneville 20 is controlled by a major recessive gene, but that segregation is obscured by other genes of lesser individual effect. The gene symbol b7, is suggested for Stoneville 20 resistance. Data indicate a single dominant gene controlling resistance in 3 other blight resistant lines. Gene symbols are suggested for these.
